Paper: You will complete an APA style 5-7 page paper, on a topic of your choice, from within the American Judicial Systems.
Your paper (in addition to being 5-7 pages), will include an abstract, literature review, and a case that reflects at least one example illustrating your paper topic. Be sure that your case aligns itself with your literature review.
This paper is intended to help you delve more deeply into a specific topic pertinent to the material you have been reading and discussing this semester. You should pick a topic that is of interest to you.
The first part of your paper will be a summary of existing knowledge about this topic. For this section of the paper you will need to find a minimum of 5 scholarly articles pertinent to your topic. You will discuss what the research has to say about this topic, using the material from your text and the research articles you have found.
The second part of your paper is an application of this scholarly material to a specific case or cases.
THE PAPER IS DUE DECEMBER 13TH – NO EXCEPTIONS – Late papers will not be accepted!
Review of relevant literature: You will complete a literature review as a foundation for your paper. Using information you gather, you will summarize and synthesize information as it relates to your chosen topic. The narrower your topic, the easier it will be to limit the number of sources you need to read in order to get a survey of the material.
This is not a comprehensive literature review (as would be required in a thesis or dissertation), you will use five (5) sources for your paper. Additionally, feel free to ask me questions as you work through your paper. Use current (within the last 5 years) sources with the exception of sources cited for historical reference.
Your sources must be “academic” in nature. The WSU library has many CRJU web research sites.
As you complete your paper:
Your paper must be cited APA style (American Psychological Association) and must include an APA format reference list that is not included in your page count.
