Every culture has created a way to share their traditions, experiences, concerns, and
history. Although an ancient art form, storytelling continues to enrich or lives. Two authors,
Amy Tan and N. Scott Momaday, are from different cultures and traditions, yet both have
the gift of telling stories that transcend customs and nations.
In this essay, you will compare and contrast the narratives to determine how each author
develops his and her voice through word choice and syntax. Also, look at literary devices
such as imagery, metaphor, and etcetera (your choice) to determine how these devices
impact the overall narratives.
